Panchang — privacy policy

Panchang is a Hindu calendar app that computes tithi, nakshatra and muhurat for your location. This is its privacy policy.

Last updated 23 October 2026.

The short version

  • Panchang works on your device. It has no account and no sign-in.
  • It does not track you, show advertising, or include third-party advertising or analytics SDKs.
  • It does not sell or share your personal data. Nothing is sent to us.

Location

To place the sun and moon correctly, Panchang needs an approximate (coarse) location. That location is used on your device only, to do the calculation. It is not uploaded to us or to anyone else, and it is not stored beyond what the app needs to show you the current panchang. You can also set a place by hand instead of granting location, and you can turn the location permission off in your phone's settings at any time.

What we collect

Nothing. Panchang has no servers that receive your data. Your settings (such as a chosen place or language) stay on your device.

Permissions

  • Approximate location — used on-device to compute the panchang for where you are, as described above. Optional: a place set by hand works without it.

Children

Panchang is suitable for all ages and collects no personal data from anyone, including children.

Changes

If the app's data practices change, we will update this page and the date above, and update the policy linked from the app's store listing.
